Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit if the Internet’s on the moon!
Inspired by the words of Melody Hossaini in series 7 of BBC One’s The Apprentice. Where did she get the quote from? A little digging suggests her muse may have been Canadian cowboy singer Paul Brandt.
One thing we do know for sure is that the Internet knows no limits. Google has made $30 million USD prize money available to anyone who can get a robot on the moon to use the Internet. The bad news? The competition closed to new entrants on 31 December 2010. Meet the teams and watch this space.
I am more interested in the growth of the Internet on Earth. How big is it? How quickly is it growing? This infographic illustrates the burgeoning growth of the Internet, mobile Internet and social networking sites Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. No mention of the Internet on the moon though.
